A Manchester United legend has told the club’s players to kick Paul Pogba in training amid the ongoing transfer saga surrounding the Frenchman.
Pogba publicly admitted a couple of months ago that it could be time for “a new challenge”, and the Frenchman has been linked with a move to both Juventus and Real Madrid since.
The uncertainty surrounding the France star’s future has become a problem for the club, and former United captain Ryan Giggs has shared his thoughts on how he would handle the situation.
The Welshman believes it all boils down to ego, which can spill over on to the pitch, and provided a “traditional” approach to solving the problem.
“Kick him (Pogba) in training,” Giggs simply said, as per the Daily Express.
“But that doesn’t happen anymore, you are starting to lose that.
“Now I’m not saying you kick everyone – but that was how (Cristiano) Ronaldo got better.
“Paul Scholes would kick him if he took too many touches.
“Suddenly it clicked that you can’t keep dribbling ‘or else I’m going to get kicked’.”
Pogba remains an important part of the Red Devils’ squad this season, and recorded two assists in the club’s 4-0 win over Chelsea on Sunday.
The 26-year-old returned to United from Juventus in 2016, and has scored 31 goals in 136 appearances for the club since.
